Steve Harvey Book..Act Like a Lady, Think like a Man

In my Dimensions Of Learning Class we have been reading "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a man." I think this book is really good, and I recommend it for young adults and older adults. Steve Harvey talks about how women are and how men are. I think he is pretty much correct about how men and women think. All the stuff he says is true. One that I liked was how you know a man loves you. And Steve Harvey called this the 3 P's. You know a man loves you if he Professes, meaning he lets everyone know that your together and he's not a shamed. He introduces you to his family and friends. The second is he Protects, and the third is he provides for you. I believe that to be true.
I think this book is good for college students to read as well. I feel the book will help a young girl become a woman. I feel that the book will help young women know how to treat their man and understand them better. Not only that but to know what a Good Man is. I really loved reading the Steve Harvey book and im glad I had to read it for Dimensions of Learning Class.

Second Semester

So its second semester all ready. My classes this semester are much more difficult. I feel like im so behind. I really need to get on the ball and get caught up. There has been a lot of snow here in North Carolina the past week. It's supposed to snow again. Im not sure I want it to snow though. Its pretty and all, but I definitely had enough of it. A lot of students here were going outside to play in the snow. I did not go outside at all. It was too cold for me.

Its about time for students to apply for housing for next year. I am so excited. But I am going to miss my dormitory. I stay in the Baynes Dorm. Which is the best dorm ever. Im not sure where I am going to stay. And I am kind of worried because it does not seem to be much housing for the sophmores. There will be too many freshmen next year, much more than this year. And we were a lot of freshmen LOL. Well Hopefully that all works out.

Homecoming/ Halloween

I know I am a little late to be talking about homecoming and Halloween because it has already past, but I had a really good time. Homecoming week was GREAT! I enjoyed all the events that they had. I went to basically all of them except for the dance show. The one that I thought was the best was the Gospel Concert. Ty Tribett did a great job. And the football team won their homecoming game so I was very excited about that. Halloween was fun me also. My friend and I bought Halloween costumes, even though we didn't know where we were going. But there was a Halloween party on campus, so we decided to go to that. But the embarassing thing was that we were the only ones in costumes but we still had fun anyways :). And yes I believe that's it....I had a wonderful time.

Blogs

Oh my gosh! I have not done a blog in so long. I feel so bad. I've been so busy and a lot of things have happend since i last posted something. Well school is school...lol. Classes are pretty hectic, and thats one of the reasons why i have not been blogging. I've been seeing a counselor on campus to help with some of my issues I am experiencing my freshman year. I am so happy that i got to talk to her because she has helped me a lot...even though I have only been to a few sessions. She was telling me to get involved on campus, and thats why I have decided to be a Student Ambassador. A student Ambassador helps with touring of the campus for prospective students. They also deal with hosting Open House events and etc. I am very excited about that. There's more stuff but I will tell you in the other blogs.

Midnight Madness!!!

One day last week it was midnight madness. I really liked that event. Everyone went to the gym and the cheerleaders performed. They also had different competitions. My favorite part of the night was when the Women's basketball team had a dance off with the Men's basketball team. The theme was Michael Jackson, so they performed lots of his songs. The Women won without any doubt lol. I really liked their performance. That was a lot of fun.

Umm...

Well school is going well. I've been here for a while now, and I've only been home 3 times. But now I find myself wanting to go home more often on the weekends, because it gets so boring. I wish there was more things to do on the weekends here. Maybe I need to go out and find things to do on campus since i'm not very familiar with Durham. Maybe I will do just that. But everything else has been good. I've been doing better in my classes and having fun with my roommate/new best friend. I'm very happy that we met and are roommates. I wouldn't want anyone else. But yea, I guess that is all that's going on.

Classes!

NCCU has been a wonderful place to be so far. I have learned a lot of things and experienced a lot of things in less than 2 months. My classes are getting tougher...lol. I look back at how I first thought of my classes and I was like "Oh, my classes are easy", but as time progresses it's getting more difficult. I'm still doing well though. My earliest class is at 9:25am and I dread waking up and going to that class every Tuesday and Thursday. I'm glad it's only two days out of the week. I'm also proud of myself because, I have been present in all of my classes. I have not missed one day. When I talk to other students on the campus they tell me they've missed 2 and 3 classes already. I'm just like wow, how is that? I believe that I am going to continue to do well in school and I'm looking forward to the future.
